El Cerrito Progressives Hosts ACLU Training

On Saturday, March 11th, 1:30 PM, El Cerrito Progressives hosted an ACLU Freedom Cities Civil Liberties Training as part of a nationwide approach to civic engagement. Great success! Over 20 people attended the training to learn about a new national campaign from the ACLU to get people safely out into the streets, and to ensure that our local city has policies on the books that protect our rights. An additional 5 people joined in on the effort from remote locations.

We can say as a result of the successful gathering hosted by our ECP member, the large group of El Cerrito residents will continue to move the campaign forward with next steps. They will be attending a meeting with the Chief of Police in the next few weeks.  For more information contact: Sarah at sbakkerkellogg@gmail.com or ECP.
