The AFL-CIO has notified El Cerrito Progressives of the chance for all of us opposed to the appointment of Judge Neil Gorsuch as a U.S. Supreme Court justice to stop his confirmation. The AFL-CIO annoucement of a rally across the country towards that effort follows:
Next week the Senate is expected to start voting on the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. We were able to stop the terrible Republican health care bill because of people taking collective action—and we have a chance to do it again with the vote on Gorsuch.
Working people in San Francisco and other cities across the country will be rallying on Saturday to tell the Senate to stop Gorsuch.
The events will give working people a chance to speak out about what we need out of any new Supreme Court justice and why Neil Gorsuch is not the judge to provide it.
Sign up now to let us know you’ll come to the action on Saturday in San Francisco to oppose Neil Gorsuch for Supreme Court.

Judge Neil Gorsuch has a poor record when it comes to standing up for working people. He has shown repeatedly that he would give corporations more power over our lives. And his eagerness to overturn well-established Supreme Court precedent puts him squarely at odds with many rulings that benefit working people.
This is arguably one of the most important Supreme Court nominations of our time. And since Supreme Court justices receive lifetime appointments, it’s even more important for working people to demand justices who will prioritize helping us create a better life for ourselves and our families, not one who already has shown he is more interested in giving corporations and greedy CEOs more power over communities.
Let us know you can make it on Saturday for the action in San Francisco to tell the Senate to oppose Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court.
