ALERT to Establish a Contra Costa County Rapid Response Network

Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity

The Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity is asking concerned residents of Contra Costa County to support with your presence the move to create a Rapid Response Network in our County. Below is the written request from Rev. Deborah Lee of the Interfaith Movement:

“ALERT! Tomorrow, 4/18/2017, there is a key opportunity to help make into reality a Contra Costa County Rapid Response Network (Hotline, Know Your Rights, Legal assistance).

Please show up tomorrow at the CCC Board of Supervisors meeting where they will be looking at Budget proposals for the coming fiscal year. Supervisor Goia will propose an allocation of county monies to create a rapid response network – similar to what has been created in Alameda Co, San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Francisco counties.

WHEN: Tuesday 4/18 – 10 am – until 12 or 1 pm. (The meeting starts at 9 am but our agenda item likely will be up at 10 am. – Ali will fill out speaker cards for our folks).

WHERE: 651 Pine St., Martinez – Board Chambers

WHAT: Prepare a short message -public testimony you can give about the importance of this network given the Trump era. Also given the amount of money the Board approved for the Jail expansion – this budget priority can at least provide something that will serve the immigrant community. The CCC CARES budget item (pilot for undocumented health care) will also be on the agenda- and another strong thing to support.

Thanks,

Deborah
